    Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Personal Identification Number?
The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a four digit numeric identification known only to you. When you insert your card into an ATM you will immediately be instructed to enter your PIN. You will not be able to complete your transaction unless your PIN is entered correctly. This is an important safety feature. No one else can use your card unless they know your PIN! Should you lose or forget your PIN, you will need to visit the bank and provide proper ID to request and obtain a new PIN.

What transactions can I perform at the ATM?

  • Withdraw cash.

  • Transfer funds between your designated accounts.

  • Check your account balances.

  • What accounts can I access?
You will have access to Checking/NOW/Money Market and/or Savings accounts. Please note that you must abide by the regulations limiting the number of transactions from a money market account.

What if I am a joint account holder?
If your account is one of joint ownership, each individual owner may have access to the same account. However, all owners must complete and sign a separate request form. Each owner will be provided with an individual card and will have his or her own Personal Identification Number.

How can I get a La Jolla Bank ATM Card?
Simply complete and sign an application and return to La Jolla Bank. To obtain an application, please stop by or call your local branch.

Protecting Your Card and Your Money
Remember: Your card is very valuable. It's the only way to get access to your account through the ATM.

    • Never write your Personal Identification Number (PIN) on or near your card. Memorize it! No one can use your card without knowing the PIN.
    • Never give your PIN to anyone and never tell it to anyone over the phone - no matter who the caller claims to be.
    • Never give your card to anyone. It's like handing them a signed blank check!
    • Keep your card away from heat, sunlight or anything magnetized. Also, don't let it get dirty and scratched.

    Protecting Yourself
ATMs give you 24-hour access to your money. While this means extra convenience, it also means you should take proper precautions when using the ATM after hours.

    • Be aware of your surroundings. ATMs should be well lit and safe. But if the lights are out, or if you notice anyone suspicious, leave the area and find another ATM - chances are there's one nearby.
    • Have your ATM card and any paperwork ready before you get to the machine. This will not only save you time, it will allow you to pay more attention to your surroundings.
    • Be sure to take your receipt. It contains personal information, including your cardholder or account number.
    • It at a walk up ATM, stand squarely in front of the ATM. Don't let anyone see you enter your PIN.
    • If you think your ATM card is lost or stolen, report it to La Jolla Bank immediately at (800) 333-1909 or contact your local branch.
Whenever you use an ATM – at a financial institution, supermarket, college campus or mall anywhere – please remember our simple suggestions.
